Sunny South West France
The Poitou-Charente region boasts one of the best climates in France, after the Mediterranean, averaging over 2,200 hours of sunshine a year.
Spring comes early to the south-west often giving good weather from as early as March. The area enjoys warm summers with long periods of sunshine. It can get very hot here, but not unbearably so, and summer temperatures can last well into October and even November. Autumn stays later than in the North, but the seasons do remain clearly defined.
The winters are short with a good amount of sunshine, but can be cold.
